September 23, 2009 Minutes

—        Attendance

All NHS meetings are mandatory. If you have 3 unexcused absences, you will be immediately put on probation. If you have 7 unexcused/excused absences you will also be put on probation unless your absence is regarding a school sanctioned activity or if you are off island for permissible purposes (medical, family, competition, etc). Please inform us about absence in advance or in at most 3 days after a mandatory event by writing us a formal letter including; what event you missed and why you missed the event. You can give your letter to any officer or you can send it online to mhsnhs09@live.com

—        T-Shirts

Are goal is to get T-shirts by November. If you have a design, please send it to mhsnhs09@live.com or give the design to any of the officers.

—        Information Forms  (Due October 9)

For those interested in joining NHS, information forms are due October 9. The sooner you get your application in the better.

—        Club Committees (Finance, School Improvement, and Community Service)

This idea will be put off until after the induction. I will post an online form this week if you havnt signed up yet.

—        Veteran’s Cemetery Clean- Up

Mandatory to go at least twice this school year. Please sign up with Judy Tiples for this Saturday’s (Sep 26, 2009) clean up. We are now doing the clean up on the last Saturday of every month. If you want to sign up for a later date please send an email to mhsnhs09@live.com

—        Treasurer Report

National Honor Society’s current balance is $820.00 as of the last time we checked. This is subject to change since the balance records have not been updated yet.

Attention all NHS members! Are you interested in an NHS trip for this school year? We will be making a committee to plan this trip and find out ways to finance it. Please sign up with either John Patrick Ermitanio or Adeleyah Mojica. This is not mandatory, but im sure it will be fun!
